ARTIST STATEMENT
I come from a family of sewers and needleworkers and started doing these things at an early age. As an adult I took a class in fiber sculpture, and have included that ever since. I'm inspired by nature, my environment, by places I've visited, by dream imagery, mythology and spirituality. Often a piece will come to mind in its finished form and the challenge is then to create it. My work covers the range from utilitarian pillows and quilts to art quilt wallhangings to fanciful 3 dimensional figures, and has been exhibited around the United States and in the former Soviet Union.
